Red Centre Rail Tour
Nestled between the rugged MacDonnell Ranges and surrounded by gorges and stark desert plains, the Red Centre, known as the hub of Central Australia, combines the rich culture and art of Indigenous Australia as you explore this diverse and fascinating region.
Day One: Make your way to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal for The Ghan departure. Enjoy a light lunch in the Queen Adelaide restaurant as you travel north towards Spencer Gulf and Port Augusta taking in the sweeping views of the Adelaide Plains and Flinders Ranges.
Day Two: Rise early to witness an unforgettable sunrise before arriving in Alice Springs early in the afternoon. Use this afternoon to explore Alice Springs before a 2 night stay at Crown Plaza Lasseters Hotel
Day Three: Today join AAT Kings on their half day West MacDonnell Ranges tour wtour where you’ll admire the rich plant and birdlife at Simpsons Gap and Standley Chasm, as well as a visit to Flynn’s Grave Memorial. The afternoon is free to explore Alice Springs township.
Day Four: Transfer from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort for a 3 night stay at The Lost Camel Hotel
Day Five: Enjoy a 5 hour fully guided Uluru Sunset tour as you take in the spectra of Uluru as it rises from the sand dunes to demonstrate its enormity and presence in this country.
Day Six: Join the Kata Tjuta Sunrise tour to watch from the best vantage point the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the sun’s morning glow as the desert comes alive.
Day Seven: Today, bid farewell to Ayers Rock.
