Bamurru Plains, a unique safari camp, is located on the wetlands of the Mary River. Wake to view buffalo, wild brumbies & agile wallabies from the comfort of your safari suite. Glide by airboat on floodplains to view thousands of magpie geese, plumed whistling duck, egrets, ibis and a host of other birds. View from open top safari vehicles an immense variety of wildlife including agile wallabies, antilopine wallaroos, dingoes, estuarine crocodiles, wild pigs and buffalo roam in the neighbouring savannah woodlands.

Cicada Lodge is nestled in the natural bush high above the ancient waterways of the Katherine River system and just a short 5 minute stroll from the boat jetty. Nitmiluk Gorge, a deep gorge carved through ancient sandstone by the Katherine River, is made up of 13 gorges, with rapids and falls, and follows the Katherine River, which begins in Kakadu. During the Dry Season (roughly from April to October) the options to explore the beauty of Nitmiluk Gorge vary from cruising, canoeing, walking or a scenic flight. You’ll be rewarded at every turn with lush flora, stunning scenery and Australian wildlife, and depending on your mode of transport, waterfalls and Aboriginal rock art.
