13 Night Ultimate Kimberley Experience, Broome to Wyndham (or v.v.)
Sample Itinerary
Schedule based on and around a full moon spring tide. Itineraries can be tailored for private group charters.
Day 1: Boarding
We start your Kimberley adventure with a scenic flight from Broome to Cygnet Bay where you will board the vessel and meet the crew before departing across King Sound and into the Buccaneer Archipelago. Enjoy the afternoon cruise with sunset drinks on the bow as we cruise into the evening across the racing tide.
Day 2: Yampi Sound to Talbot Bay
We’ll start our day with a refreshing swim under an amazing freshwater waterfall, try our luck at catching a fish, before taking a scenic cruise past Koolan Island as we make our way into Talbot Bay to view the world-famous Horizontal Waterfalls.
Day 3: Collier Bay
Collier Bay- home of the largest tides in the Southern Hemisphere – a truly amazing spectacle to behold. The day spent exploring one of several creek systems available, a climb and freshwater swim at a secret watering hole is a great way to spend the afternoon before we sail to the northern reach of the Bay.
Day 4: Doubtful Bay/Montgomery Reef
Doubtful Bay and the options are aplenty! Tides will dictate our day with fishing always a big favourite, there’s mud crabbing available, as well as numerous swimming holes and waterfalls to visit. Spend the afternoon observing the phenomena that is the truly amazing Montgomery Reef system. Watch as the reef literally rises from the ocean on the dropping tide and reveals all its hidden wonders- a day you will truly remember.
Day 5: Camden Harbour to Hanover Bay
Start the day visiting Camden Harbour and Sheep island- the failed settlement attempt by early Europeans. Then we’ll cruise thru Port George taking in some Pearling history before arriving at Hanover Bay for an afternoon excursion, fish and sunset beach walk.
Day 6: Prince Regent River
Wake up to the grandeur of your surrounds as we cruise down into the Prince Regent River. Then its’ out in the tenders to fish and explore the tributaries and enjoy the day at Kings Cascades – with another amazing freshwater swim in one of the crystal-clear tiered pools at the top. Back on board for a sunset cruise back out of the river with drinks on the bow to reflect on this incredible place.
Day 7: Careening Bay & Hunter River
Start the day with an early walk to the historic ‘Mermaid Tree’ before cruising into Prince Frederick Harbour and viewing the ancient headland formations that frame the entry to the Hunter River. Great fishing & crabbing available for the enthusiasts, or enjoy a tour of one of the most scenic rivers in the Kimberley.
Day 8: Winyalkin Island
Spend the morning collecting the delicious Kimberley Black Lip Oyster, before wetting a line to try your hand at landing a decent pelagic. After lunch its time to view some of the amazing Rock Art that’s on offer in the bay- with Gwion Gwion and Wandjina styles both available.
Day 9: Swift Bay
Another day of magnificent beaches, incredible Art Sites, lazily trolling a lure in one of the tenders, or just relax and take in the scenery that this bay has to offer. Afternoon sunset cruise with the days catch served on the bow with a refreshing beverage.
Day 10: Vansitart Bay
So many options in this magnificent Bay. Tides will let us choose from several incredible Wandjina Art sites, a visit to an historic plane wreck, visit Jar Island to view more Gwion Gwion Art, chase down some Mangrove jacks in the fishing department, or tangle with some powerful Queenfish and Giant Trevally to see how the arms are holding up!
Day 11: King George River
Today is a day you definitely wont forget. The grandeur of the King George River will leave an impression sure to last. Relax on the bow as we take an early morning cruise up the river to where it terminates in the Twin Falls- the highest twin falls in the Kimberley at 8pm high. Then we’ll take a walk to the top and swim in one of the many pools on offer whilst taking in the amazing view back down the river. The afternoon will be spent getting up close & personal with gorge walls before returning to the Kimberley Pearl to enjoy the evening dinner on the top deck under the stars- a truly wonderful & memorable day.
Day 12: Koolama Bay/ Berkley River
Spend the morning reliving some WW2 history in Koolama Bay & Pengali Cove before making our way south to the Berkeley River. Upon arrival we’ll cross the sand bars that guard the entrance then take a scenic cruise thru the winding gorge with its towering cliffs.
Day 13: Berkeley River
A day spent out in the tenders exploring the rivers gorges, waterfalls, creeks and swimming holes. Throw a line in at your last opportunity to land that elusive Barramundi before the afternoon cruise out of the river, across the bars and onto Wyndham.
Day 14: Wyndham
Disembark Kimberley Pearl between 8:00am and 9:00am (depending on tides), to board your complimentary coach transfer to Kunnunurra.
